1) Text

A flyer is a brochure, which is characterized by seeking to produce an immediate effect on people. It is a rather short-lived piece, distributed on a massive scale on the streets, and therefore, it is essential that the text is concise, clear and memorable, so that people take interest in it and keep it. A flyer must contain a simple, yet a catchy phrase. Clarity and synthesis are essential for preparing the text of a flyer: fundamentally, it has to include the name of the company, the products and services offered, prices, bids, the slogan of the company and the contact details. Even when a flyer of a medium or a large size is designed, it is not advisable to overload it with text, since this may confuse the readers.

2) Font

The fonts to be used on flyers should be easily readable in different sizes, because reading is usually done on the street, and on the go. The title or the impact phrase should be prominently sized. We recommend using classic fonts to favor maximum legibility. Also, bolder fonts are ideal for flyers, as they can be read comfortably.

3) Images

A flyer should include the corporate logo, as well as the photos or illustrations of a company's own products. Ideally, a few images are chosen in order to avoid visual overload. Furthermore, when it concerns a common flyer, a printed paper piece, it should be kept in mind that the images will not be of high resolution, especially in reduced sizes, which is why it is not a good idea to include many photos or illustrations.

4) Panels or sides

For both simple and double-sided flyers, it is important that the front panel has a simple and a catchy phrase in addition to the company name, the logo, products, services, prices and offers. It is a good idea to use some allusive images in it. In double-sided flyers, the reverse panel is generally used to display the contact information. Designers are responsible for maintaining consistency between the two sides.

5) Colors

The flyers are usually designed in black and white, since they are the pieces of mass distribution, it is, therefore, necessary to reduce their costs. You can experiment with the range of greys and the contrast between black and white. Often, an additional color is introduced, in which case it is advisable to choose a bright color to highlight the most important parts of the flyer. If the flyer is printed in full color, a simple design is essential, so that the colors make an impact, without being mixed up.
